Thank you everyone for your help, he has been found safe and well.

There was a young dark haired guy with glasses walking down Burneside rd about 4.15 ish towards the bridge.

It is with kind permission from the family that we share the following notice:

Sorry to read this Carol, sincere condolences to the family

This is a longer post .. but worth a read. Our history, and the way we're run, is pretty unique and this gives a snapshot of what we're all about.

⬇️⬇️⬇️

Douneside House enjoys a wonderful location, as part of the MacRobert Estate, near Tarland in Royal Deeside.

It used to be the home of the illustrious MacRobert family. After Lady MacRobert's three sons all died as young men (two in active service during WWII), there was no family left to inherit Douneside House, and The MacRobert Estate. Before she passed in 1954 Lady MacRobert set up a charity, The MacRobert Trust, to own and manage her Estate in perpetuity.

This is still the case today, and Douneside House continues to be owned and run by the charity Lady MacRobert established all those years ago.

In 2016, the hotel opened to the public for the first time. Since then, we're delighted to have won many prestigious awards, including Hotel of the Year (Scotland) and achieved 3 AA Rosettes, the only North East Restaurant to have that accolade, for our Library @ Douneside Restaurant.

We have a wonderful team of the very best in the industry, who run Douneside day to day and look after our guests. When guests choose to stay or visit, all the money made by the hotel is donated to charity, via The MacRobert Trust. So thank you for all your support, it has been amazing ❤️

Last year, The MacRobert Trust, through income from its investments, estate and Douneside, donated over £1m to a wide range of worthwhile charities, youth prizes, apprenticeships and community projects.

The MacRobert family history is a fascinating one and it's a legacy that is still very active today through the work of the charity. If you'd like to find out more, our MacRobert Trust annual review has just been published and the link is below ⬇️⬇️⬇️

Just come through it, the water's cleared for the moment. Dirt and gravel left, but it's fine for now.

For all those using the gate at Cockforest through to the fishing pond, from tonight (Saturday) the gate will be locked due to continued failure to shut gate appropriately.
Today half the flock was on the B9119 and the others are now mixed with ewes and lambs, this carelessness has resulted in hours of sorting out sheep.

Hi, can you e-mail your comments to Alison. I guess that will be the best way to get them to her as she has asked us to put this post up for her.

Which gate exactly is this? It’s not the “double gates” at fishing pond/tarland trials ?

I understand it must be very frustrating and potentially costly for you, but I would be very disappointed if it was anyone from the Mid Deeside Angling Club that purposely left the gate open. If you have any details of the fisher(s) involved please contact the club secretary jstilwell29@gmail.com who I am sure will take the appropriate action. On a personal note, due to a broken and fused ankle I find climbing gates and rough ground very difficult, I also remember being told not to park just before the gate so I am unsure how I can access the Loch. Perhaps a more robust gate mechanism would help or a key box to allow access to club members?
