Tarland is a most attractive village 30 miles west of Aberdeen with its village square constructed in the North East vernacular style overlooked by an impressive granite war memorial. It is located on the B9119, a quiet and scenic route from the city and can also be approached from Aboyne via the B9004, passing Tomnaverie Stone Circle. It nestles at the centre of The Howe O' Cromar, close to the boundary of the Cairngorms National Park. This natural hollow of land on the eastern edge of the Grampian mountains between the rivers Dee and Don is an area of exceptional beauty in a very special corner of North East Scotland.
